Finally, full amends are made and the highest imperial ranks and titles are conferred upon Michizane. He is also named a Tenjin or heavenly spirit. With this the spirit's anger is finally quelled, and peace returns. The Tenjin of the Kitano Shrine then becomes a source of aid for those who are unjustly persecuted.
