Ni-ka-re, His Wife, and Their Son. Saqqara; Fifth Dynasty, reign of Niuserre (ca. 2420–2389 B.C.E.) or later. Painted limestone; H. 22 5/8 in. (57.5 cm). The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Charles Edwin Wilbour Fund (49.215).

By virtue of their large size, their standing pose, and the attentive rendering of their preserved faces, the figures of Ni-ka-re's wife and his son, shown as a child, are visually more commanding than the seated, and absolutely larger, figure of Ni-ka-re himself.
