The Ben Franklin sculpture is nearly seven feet tall. This is much larger than he was in real life. Artists often exaggerate the size of things to make them appear powerful. We often say that "we look up to" important people as a way of showing our respect. Imagine standing in front of the Ben Franklin monument, would you have to look up at him?
