Claes Oldenburg and
Coosje van Bruggen call their sculptures Large-Scale Projects because
of their exaggerated size. The larger their size the more important they
appear. Think about everyday objects, like a trowel, and how important
they are in our lives. If you are a gardener or love to pick flowers you
might have a different response to a trowel than someone who has never
worked in a flowerbed. You might also just marvel at the unusual shape.
In other words, you might just look at it, not for what it does, but for
what it isa work of art.
