The unglazed exterior of this vase reveals the delicacy of its
relief decoration in the theme of the tomato. The squat, lobed shape
replicates that of the fruit itself and features carefully articulated
low-relief vines and fruit around the upper part. As was common
with some of Tiffany's ceramics, the form duplicates one produced
by his studios in enamel on copper.
