One of three highly decorative bowed transom windows from the bay of the Music Room of the Havemeyer house, this panel depicts leafy scrolls and blossoms emanating from a pomegranate-like fruit. Its subtle monochrome palette is in opalescent, amber, and gold tones, which harmonized with the furniture also in the room. Its sinuous curves recall the fluidity and sensuality of the Art Nouveau style, which reached its high point in Europe about 1900. Rough-cut amber glass jewels punctuate the composition, giving off a golden sparkle when light shines through them.
