Private Celebrations, The Members Dining Room

The Metropolitan Museum offers elegant private spaces and unforgettable dining experiences for your next event. From business meetings to intimate dinners and cocktail receptions, these rooms offer exceptional entertaining opportunities for family, friends, and colleagues—customized to your tastes and budget.

Private dining room rentals are available to Members for dinner (Friday and Saturday), lunch (Monday through Friday), and weekend brunch, as well as during select weekday evening receptions for Members. Additional opportunities for corporate entertaining exist for exhibition sponsors and members at the highest levels of the Corporate Patron Program.

A breathtaking space with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Central Park. The Terrace Room is an elegant setting for brunches, teas, and luncheons, from bridal showers to birthday parties. Also ideal for sunset cocktail receptions and dinners set against the iconic New York skyline.

An elegant, art-filled space with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and Central Park. Newly renovated, the Patrons Lounge offers unique entertaining opportunities and innovative menus for your next alumni gathering, corporate outing, or other special occasion.

Capacity for reception: 100 guests


Wireless Internet access is available in all rooms. Tours of the spaces and consultations are available Monday through Friday, and technical specifications are available upon request. A portion of the rental fee may be considered tax deductible.
