The Museum organizes dozens of events and programs every year exclusively for its Members, including private viewings of special exhibitions, Members-only concerts and lectures, subscription dinners, special holiday shopping days, and art classes for children and adults. To learn more about the benefits of joining the Museum, see Membership or select one of the categories listed below.

Individual Members ($95) enjoy:

  • Invitations, which admit two, to selected daytime viewings of two special exhibitions
  • Special holiday shopping at selected Met Stores in locations across America


Family/Dual Members ($190) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Free tickets for Members-only lectures given on selected weekends in the fall and spring
  • An opportunity to subscribe to parent-child workshops, gallery adventures, and other art programs for young people


Sustaining Members ($500) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Invitations, which admit two, to previews or private viewings of special exhibitions with receptions in the galleries
  • A private holiday shopping day at the Museum
  • An opportunity to subscribe to art history seminars, behind-the-scenes workshops, and gala dinners


Contributing Members ($1,200) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Two additional previews or private exhibition viewings
  • Invitations, which admit two, to two evening receptions for Contributing Members
  • Invitation to subscribe to a Gala Dinner at The Cloisters


Donor Members ($1,800) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Invitations, which admit two, to two evening receptions exclusively for Donor and Contributing Members
  • Invitation, which admits two, to a spring reception at The Cloisters


Sponsor Members ($4,000) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Invitations, which admit two, to a special series of Curators' Talks
  • Invitation, which admits two, to an additional preview or private viewing of an exhibition
  • Invitations, which admit two, to a series of concerts performed in the Patrons Lounge on instruments from the Museum's collection


Patron Members ($8,000) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Special springtime evening program with the Museum's director, Philippe de Montebello
  • Special evening for Patron Members only, typically a private viewing of a special exhibition followed by a reception


Patron Circle Members ($12,000) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • Private tour for six of the collection or special exhibition of your choice, with complimentary beverages in the Patrons Lounge, at a mutually agreed-upon time
  • Invitations, which admit two, to previews of most special exhibitions on press preview days


President's Circle Members ($20,000) enjoy all of the above, plus:

  • An invitation to attend a private reception with the Museum's President
  • Invitations to attend two behind-the-scenes events with Museum curators
  • Exclusive concierge services for all Museum related programs, reservations, and personal shopping
  • Complimentary Afternoon Tea for four in the Patrons Lounge
  • Within the limits prescribed by law, $18,523 of this Membership contribution may be tax deductible.
