Hanukkah: A Higher Holiday

In conjunction with the exhibition Lisbon's Hebrew Bible: Medieval Jewish Art in Context (on view November 22, 2011, through January 16, 2012), David Kraemer, the Joseph J. and Dora Abbell Librarian and professor of Talmud and Rabbinics at The Jewish Theological Seminary, presents this lecture celebrating a masterwork of Hebrew manuscript illumination and discusses the vital importance of Hanukkah in the Jewish tradition.
