This long, gold chain, found in central Inner Mongolia, is proof of the travel of fashion between India and China from the first to the third century. It is likely that the Indian-style necklace or bracelet with pendants shaped like weapons and shields first entered China in the north. By the late third century, this form of ornament was popular all over China.
