Vincent van Gogh: The Drawings

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's quick podcast guide provides information on ways to listen to, download, and subscribe to the audio programs produced by the Museum.

1. Subscribe to the Met's podcast feed: Copy and paste this URL into your aggregator. www.metmuseum.org/rss/exhibitionpodcast.xml

2. Download the audio program for use with your portable MP3 player. To download these audio files, right-click on the "Download the audio program" link (or control-click on a Mac) and select "Save Target As…" (or "Download Linked File" on a Mac) to save the file to your hard drive.

Download the audio program.

3. Listen to the full audio program.

An iPod is not necessary to listen to a podcast audio program; any MP3 player will work. Consult the instructions for your player to find out how to import new audio files.

What is a Podcast?

Podcasting is a method of publishing audio programs via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed (via RSS) or downloading a MP3 file.

What is RSS?

Short for "Really Simple Syndication," RSS is an XML-based technology that allows Internet users to subscribe to website content. Listeners may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software (a type of aggregator), which periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically.
