Description

Description

Among the many product innovations of the Delftware potteries was a series of plaques dating from 1660–62 depicting local preachers. An engraving of about 1645 was the model for this portrait in the manner of Michiel van Miereveld and his immediate followers in Delft. Robertus Junius was a Reformed minister who served many years on the island of Formosa (Taiwan) and in Delft from 1645 to 1653.
