MMA Burton photo TAA2

The site of the tomb of Tutankhamun after excavation. Tutankhamun's tomb, which lies below and to the right of the large entrance to the tomb of Ramesses VI (1143–1136 B.C.), had been hidden by workmen's huts and construction debris from the later tomb. See a map of the necropolis. Crates for the finds from Tutankhamun's tomb can be seen at the lower right.
