One of the two life-size wood statues of the deceased king that flanked the sealed entrance to the Burial Chamber. He is depicted standing and holding a staff, and he wears a bag wig decorated with a uraeus. His eyes and eyebrows are inlaid with limestone and obsidian and ringed with gilded bronze; his wig, broad collar, kilt, armlets, and sandals are all covered in gesso and gilded. The black skin of the pharaoh is painted resin, applied directly over the wood, and identifies him with Osiris, god of the netherworld.
