Celebrating the opening of the new Sherman Fairchild Center for Works on Paper and Photograph Conservation, this exhibition explains various photographic processes and explores issues of connoisseurship, condition, preservation, and treatment. The selection of photographic prints and negatives displayed—from throughout the medium's history and running the gamut from superbly preserved to unfortunately timeworn—is accompanied by revealing examples of before- and after-treatment documentation, microscopic views, and explanatory texts.
