Sale - Golden Evening Shoe Pin
Golden Evening Shoe Pin
Since the early 1900s, designers of women's shoes have embraced more variations than in the entire previous history of footwear. Balancing fantasy with function, the great designers of the 20th century have created some of the most innovative shoes ever made, adapting styles from the past with a contemporary sensibility. Our pin is based on a pair of evening shoes designed in Paris in the early 1930s, and now in the Museum’s Costume Institute. The originals are made of gold kid accented with stitching, leopard-patterned kid, and a heel of gold kid. Bits of strass, a high-lead glass, decorate the leopard spots, and tiny crystals adorn the buckles.

24K gold plate, with enamel. Length 2 1/4 in., width 1 in.

Original price $35
