Amazonite and Pearl Necklace

	The island of Cyprus, within the borders of the Byzantine empire, was an important Early Byzantine trading center in the eastern Mediterranean. In 1902, the second Cypriot Treasure-an impressive gold and silver collection of vessels, dishes, and jewelry—was found in Karavas, a small town near the principal seaport on the island's north shore of Lambrousa (ancient Lapithos). Our Amazonite and Pearl Necklace is based on a necklace found among the second Cypriot Treasure that features alternating, luminous white pearls with soft green gems worked from a type of quartz. 24K gold-plated sterling silver, with amazonite and cultured freshwater pearls.
