Classic Modern Hanukkah Lamp
Classic Modern Hanukkah Lamp
Master silversmith David Heinz Gumbel (German, 1909–1999) was greatly influenced by the Bauhaus school of architecture and industrial design in Germany, and incorporated its aesthetic into his Judaica works. He designed the original Hanukkah lamp, on which the Museum’s version is based, around 1930. Shortly after, he fled his native Germany to Palestine. Our elegant reproduction is a numbered edition of 1,000. Produced in cooperation with Malka Cohavi & Studio D.H. Gumbel and the Jewish Museum, New York.

Argentum pewter. Height 13 1/2 in., width 13 1/2 in.; base diameter 5 1/4 in.

This item cannot be gift wrapped or boxed. See details.
