Based on a rug fragment of a wool loop-pile rug, Byzantium, said to be from said to be from Antinopolis (Antinoe, now Sheikh Ibada, Egypt)

This carpet is an interpretation of the Museum's rug fragment and is made with modern natural dyes and hand spun wool. It was knotted by hand in central Turkey by skilled artisans using the same technique as has been used for centuries.
Dimensions, 4 ft. 5 in. x 6 ft. 6 in.
