Special Value - The Most Beautiful Villages of Tuscany
The Most Beautiful Villages of Tuscany

By James Bentley, photographs by Hugh Palmer

The elegance of Tuscany’s grand cities is found on a more intimate scale in its numerous small towns and villages, the most beautiful of which are celebrated in this volume. Thirty-six villages and towns from all over Tuscany have been chosen both for their intrinsic beauty and for the part they have played in Tuscan history and culture. The book opens with those communities clustered around the towns of Lucca and Florence, producers of the finest olive oil and home to some of the world’s greatest works of art, and moves south through the Chianti region to the valley of the Orcia, devoted to the cultivation of aromatic herbs. Marvelous photographs accompany the vivid and highly descriptive accounts of all these villages. The final section of the book features a list of useful information on sights to visit and places to stay and to eat.

224 pages, 288 full-color illustrations. 10 1/4 in. x 12 1/2 in. Hardcover; clothbound, with jacket.
