Sale - Sheer Scarf with Falling Leaf Medallions
Sheer Scarf with Falling Leaf Medallions

With the opening of Japanese ports to trade with the West in 1854, Japanese designs became wildly fashionable in Europe and the United States. The Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, formed in 1862 in England, was a leading manufacturer of porcelains decorated in a Japanesque mode, with raised gold-paste ornamentations set against a porcelain base. The graceful pattern of gently falling, leaf-shaped medallions on our scarf is adapted from a porcelain Japanesque tray in the Museum’s collection, created by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company in 1884.

Imported polyester, with metallic jacquard threads. 82 in. x 20 in.
