Ladybug Key Chain

The charming ladybug design of the Museum’s key chain is adapted from the lid of a tiny box made of enamel and diamonds created by the workshop of Peter Carl Fabergé in St. Petersburg about 1896–1903. Jeweler to the last two czars of the Romanov dynasty, Peter Carl Fabergé (Russian, 1846–1920) emphasized creativity and workmanship in making his intricate jewelry and objets d'art, which included clocks, enamel cigarette cases, boxes, and frames. Produced in cooperation with The Cleveland Museum of Art. Made expressly for the Metropolitan Museum in the United States.

24K gold plate, hand enameled, with Swarovski™ crystals. Length 3 1/2 in.; ladybug length 1 1/4 in.
