For his sculptures as well as for his paintings, Edgar Degas (French, 1834–1917) found a ready source of inspiration in the ballet dancers of the Paris Opéra and created a series of stunning works that depict lithe dance figures in a variety of positions. Our reproduction faithfully captures the grace and beauty of the 1920 bronze original, now in the Museum's collection.

Bonded bronze, hand patinated. Height including base 13 3/4 in., length 8 5/8 in., width 4 9/16 in.
