William Morris Interlacing-Vines Tie

Poet, political activist, architect, and designer, William Morris (British, 1834–1896) ranks among the most influential figures of the Victorian era. In 1861, Morris cofounded the successful firm later known as Morris & Co. The company’s enduringly popular designs for wallpaper, stained glass, furniture, and fabric reflect Morris’s own interests in medieval art and the close study of nature, and were often densely patterned with flowers, leaves, and fruit. Our tie is based on a design Morris created for a carpet featuring an intricate scrolling-vine pattern with leaves and flowers against a ground patterned with tendrils and palmettes.

Imported silk twill. Fully-faced, with self-loop. Width 3 3/4 in. Available in copper, burgundy, or charcoal blue.
