Gold Spiral Bracelet

The Franks were a Germanic people who settled in the northeast corner of the Roman province of Gaul, in what is now modern-day France, during the 5th century A.D. They valued articles of personal adornment, which were worn as symbols of status and power in both life and death. The original spiral bracelet on which ours is based is attributed to Frankish craftsmen and is dated to the 6th century, the period of great expansion under Clovis and his sons. Produced in cooperation with The British Museum, London.

24K gold plate, with satin brushed matte finish on outside and polished finish on inside. Inner circumference 8 1/2 in.; width 1 in.
