Roman Court Mosaic-Pattern Scarf

The classic elegance of the black-and-white design of our scarf is inspired by one of the floor mosaics in the Roman Court at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Designed by the architectural firm McKim, Mead, and White—one of the leaders of the neoclassical style during the early 20th century—the Roman Court reflects several elements derived from ancient buildings in Rome, Athens, and other classical centers. The black-and-white patterns of the tiles emulate the design of those found in Hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli, one of the greatest architectural achievements of the Roman world.
