The 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia first brought the designs of Victorian reformer William Morris (British, 1834–1896) to the attention of the American public who became captivated by his fresh patterns and flat, naturalistic flower, foliage, vine, and bird designs. The pattern reproduced on this watch is adapted from a detail of Compton, a wallpaper pattern designed by Morris.

Stainless steel face, with vinyl strap. With Japanese movement. Length 7 3/4 in.
