Simply place an Eyelight over a menu item, Museum label, or other small-size text, and press the button on the bottom. The text is lit up, magnified, and easy to read. The image on this Eyelight is drawn from the Museum’s Stepping Out by Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923–1997). Lichtenstein’s paintings, based on depictions of characters in tense, dramatic situations, are intended as ironic commentaries on our modern plight, in which mass media—magazines, advertisements, television—determine everything, including our emotions. This portrayal of a man and a woman is marked by Lichtenstein’s customary restriction to the primary colors plus black and white.
