Special Value - Leonardo da Vinci: The Complete Paintings and Drawings
Leonardo da Vinci: The Complete Paintings and Drawings

By Frank Zöllner

Five hundred years ago, Leonardo da Vinci (Italian [Florentine], 1452–1519) not only revolutionized art but also anticipated, in his wide-ranging studies, the scientific discoveries of later epochs. Now available in a smaller size, this comprehensive volume includes full-page details of Leonardo da Vinci’s masterworks, allowing the reader to inspect and appreciate the master’s brushstrokes. The first section of the book explores Leonardo’s life and work. All of his paintings are interpreted in depth with The Annunciation and The Last Supper featured on large double-spreads. The second part of the book comprises a catalogue raisonné of Leonardo’s paintings, which covers all of his surviving and lost painted works, and includes texts describing their states of preservation. The last section contains an extensive catalogue of Leonardo’s drawings, of which 663 are presented and arranged by genre. A marvelous tribute to every aspect of Leonardo’s life and work, this volume is a wonderful addition to the family library.

696 pages, 852 full-color illustrations, 9 in. x 14 in. Hardcover; clothbound, with jacket. One volume, with slipcase.
