In connection with the exhibition "Treasury of the World: Jeweled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals," the Metropolitan Museum collaborated with The Gem Palace in Jaipur—jewelry suppliers to India's royal families for more than seven generations—to produce handcrafted traditional and modern pieces that reflect the brilliant artistic achievements of the Mughal period in India (1526–1858) and represent a unique fusion of ancient techniques with a contemporary aesthetic.

These 22K gold earrings feature diamonds and rubies that are kundan set in a stylized floral pattern, and hanging cultured freshwater pearl drops. Length 1 1/2 in. Pierced, with 22K gold wires.
