Central European Crystal Necklace

As the Art Deco style came into prominence in the 1920s, the trend in jewelry design was toward simplicity and formality. Typically in this period the details of a woman’s wardrobe, including jewelry, were designed to complement her body and its graceful movements. Necklaces and long drop earrings swayed to the rhythms of popular dances of the period. Gemstone jewelry flashed sparkling reflections across the room; platinum and white gold, which enhanced the brilliance of white gemstones, were very fashionable. Our necklace is based on three originals (ca. 1930) of varying lengths made of platinum and diamonds. Produced in cooperation with the Museum of Decorative Arts, Prague-UPM.
