New - Japanesque Medallions Woven Tie

This handsome silk necktie, with its striking asymmetrical design, is based on a medallion pattern from an 1884 tray made by the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company. With the opening of Japanese ports to trade with the West in 1854, Japanese designs became wildly fashionable in Europe and the United States. The Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, formed in 1862 in England, was a leading manufacturer of porcelains decorated in the Japanesque mode, with raised gold-paste ornamentations set against a porcelain base.

Imported woven silk twill. Fully faced, with self-loop. Width 3 3/4 in. Available in blue, charcoal/black, or gold.
