Molded directly from the original Bronze Statuette of a Horse in the Museum's collection, our reproduction captures the grace and power of the Greek Hellenistic period (about 323–31 B.C.). Animal forms were popular subjects in Greek art, in all time periods and materials. The horse, however, occupies pride of place for the frequency, understanding, and beauty with which it is represented. It continues a distinguished tradition in both concept and execution.
