Sale - Lily of the Valley Charm Bracelet
Lily of the Valley Charm Bracelet

Peter Carl Fabergé (Russian, 1846–1920) revolutionized the way jewelry was evaluated in Russian society by emphasizing creativity and workmanship over the use of precious stones and metals. His studio produced a wide variety of objets d'art, including magnificent jewelry, clocks, enamel cigarette cases, boxes, frames, and his ultimate achievement, a series of jeweled Easter eggs created for Czars Alexander III and Nicholas II of Russia. Our charm bracelet is based on the flower designs of an exquisite Imperial egg known as the Lilies of the Valley Egg, created by Fabergé and presented to Maria Feodorovna by her son Czar Nicholas II in 1898. The exquisite pink enamel and pearl original is decorated with delicate gold-stemmed pearl and diamond lilies of the valley, with green enamel leaves. Executed in the Art Nouveau style, the original egg contains a suite of miniature portraits of the czar and his eldest daughters. Made expressly for the Metropolitan Museum in the United States.

24K gold plate, with hand-applied enamel and glass pearls. Length 7 1/2 in.; charm length 1/2 in. to 1 in.
