The Baltimore Consort
Bright Day Star: Music for the Yuletide Season
Founded in 1980 to perform the instrumental music of
Shakespeare’s time, the Baltimore Consort has since
expanded to include English, Scottish, and French
popular music from the sixteenth to the eighteenth
centuries. Drawing its title from the Scottish poet
William Dunbar’s Advent poem Rorate coeli desuper,
this program features Christmas music from England,
Scotland, France, and Spain, finding its theme in carols
and dance tunes through the centuries. Countertenor
José Lemos and soprano Danielle Svonavec will join
the Consort for these performances.
* This concert is presented in The Fuentidueña Chapel at The Cloisters.
All seats are unreserved.
