This small bronze cup has a simple, round bowl set on a tall, narrow foot that widens at the lower end to a flat base. It has two thin handles that curve inward at the top. Cups of this shape were made in a variety of sizes and materials, including terracotta, bronze, silver, and gold. They were an important component of the symposium, which was a ritualized drinking party enjoyed by elite Greek men.
