Since Sherf's Osiris factory produced numerous designs by independent artists and Laüger's repertoire also included designs for metalwork, it is not surprising that the two should have come in contact. An example of Laüger's vases included in the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900 may have brought him to Sherf's attention.
