The picture seems to have been painted about 148082, under the strong influence of Verrocchio, and is almost perfectly preserved. It is roughly contemporary with Rosselli's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, Rome, where he worked alongside Perugino, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, and Signorelli. The frame dates from the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century.
