Bequest of Mary Stillman Harkness, 1950 (50.145.24)

The sitter was apparently attached to the court of Henry VIII, as his livery is embroidered with the initials H[R] for Henricus Rex. The frame is original and the reverse is painted black and decorated with engraved circles.
