    Ink on paper

The reminder over the sum of 26,000 rubles, dated June 22, 1789, was written by David Roentgen in Saint Petersburg. It refers to the order the installation of three cabinets (from a set of five) for the Hermitage Palace sixteen months earlier. Roentgen designed these cabinets, each with one hundred drawers, to house parts of the cameo and medal collections of Catherine the Great.
