Bands of kufic script repeat the word "happiness" in mirror image and embellished with interlace. Between are broad zones containing a star pattern in strapwork that incorporates cartouches inscribed with the phrase "eternal glory." This style of decoration was developed under the Nasrids in Granada but silks of this type continued to be popular, in both Spain and North Africa, after the fall of the dynasty in 1492.
