Did You Know?

Open Late Fridays and Saturdays
Did you know that the Main Building of the Museum is open until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings? Stop by for an after-work visit to the galleries or to meet friends in the Great Hall Balcony Bar for live classical music and a light snack. Venture out to the Roof Garden Café (weather permitting), where you can enjoy a refreshment while viewing the special exhibition "Roxy Paine on the Roof: Maelstrom." Or join us in the intimate setting of The Petrie Court Café and Wine Bar, which will host a live jazz trio on Friday, July 31, and Friday, August 28.
Audio Guides: Five after Five
Take advantage of a special reduced rate on Friday and Saturday evenings. After 5:00 p.m., Audio Guides are only $5. (Not to be combined with any other discounts.) Learn more about the Met's Audio Guide.
We Want You! (To Submit Your Photos)
Take advantage of the Museum's flickr group to share your photos of the Main Building and The Cloisters. Sharing your photos is easy. Just join the group and add your pictures to our group pool. (Note: If your photos are of The New American Wing, tag them with "american_wing.") We'll be selecting one visitor-submitted photo to be featured in the August issue of our email newsletter Met News, which has a readership of more than one hundred thousand people. For inspiration, see photos submitted to our "It's Time We Met" contest.
