Audio Guide

The Met Audio Guide offers more than seventy-five hours of insightful audio commentary, developed by curators and educators, about works of art in the Museum's permanent collection and select special exhibitions. New material—including programs in multiple languages—is added on a continual basis. All Audio Guide commentaries, as well as Met Podcast episodes, are available in one player for a single, daily rental fee.

Audio Guides are easy to use. Simply follow these three steps:

  1. Rent an Audio Guide player at one of several locations in the Museum, including the Audio Guide desk in the Great Hall, any admissions desk, the entrances to special exhibitions, and various gift shops.

  3. When you have finished, return the audio player to the Audio Guide desk in the Great Hall. You may use it for the entire length of your visit, or return it and retrieve it again later on the same day (with a receipt), free of charge.
