The Cloisters Audio Guide

Narrated by Peter Barnet, Michel David-Weill Curator in Charge of Medieval Art and The Cloisters, The Cloisters Audio Guide comprises interviews with curators, conservators, and educators. Medieval music on the Audio Guide is evocative of the time and adds to the enjoyment of the experience.

  • Rental includes same day use at The Cloisters and at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (with receipt).
  • A recorded Audio Guide, produced in association with Antenna Audio on a light-weight MP-3 player, includes 75 stops located throughout The Cloisters.
  • The Cloisters Audio Guide is available in English.
  • Also includes: A Family Audio Guide—ideal for children 6 to 12 years of age and their families. In the galleries, look for audio stop labels beginning with "F" and press the number on your audio player.

Daily Rental Fees

  • $7 for the general public
  • $6 for Museum Members
  • $5 for children under twelve

Special Fees

  • Free for middle school and high school students with valid New York City school I.D. card
  • Free to visitors with visual and hearing impairments, Met staff members, and volunteers
