Terracotta lekythos (oil flask)

Attributed to the Carlsruhe Painter

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 171

Woman juggling

The scene here complements the one on a lekythos exhibited close by, in which the juggling woman is seated. The presence of the kalathos (wool basket) suggests that the woman may be playing with balls of wool.
