Trade cards from the "Ball Players" (baseball) series (E145). Two sets were issued, one in 1914 (144 cards) and a reissue in 1915 (176 cards), to be distributed in boxes of Cracker Jack caramel popcorn and peanut confection. The 1915 issue is an expanded set of the earlier year. Backs feature the card number and biography of the player pictured. Back, printed below horizontal black line: This is one of a series of colored pictures/ of famous Ball Players and Managers given/ Free with Cracker Jack, "The Famous Pop-/ corn Confection," one card in each package.
