This Bible, produced in Constantinople for a wealthy Armenian family living in Safavid Persia, presents creation cycles inspired by Western images in an Armenian context. On the left is the Creation of Adam and Eve, the Temptation, and the Expulsion from Paradise beside roundels depicting the six days of Creation. To the right, the image in the headpiece of the Gospel of John refers to the Apocalypse, as told in this Gospel.
