Jewelry discovered in the ruins of Dvin displays its citizens’ wealth and participation in international trade routes during the city’s last centuries. The basket earring is like those found in Byzantium, Egypt, and Syria to Dvin’s west. The bracelets and the crescent-shaped earrings with jewels reflect the taste of Iraq and Iran to its east. The dangling figures seated in cross-legged poses on the crescent-shaped earrings suggest the citizens of Dvin adapted the lifestyle of those to its east.
