Model of the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin

Armenian

Not on view

Miniature models of churches are found on the gables of many Armenian church roofs and often reflect the designs of the buildings they adorn. This model originally decorated the cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin before its restoration in 2000. The model’s shape demonstrates the furrowed conical roof and dome of a medieval stage of the cathedral.
