The narrative starts on the top left with the Transfiguration of Christ before three of his apostles. The prophets Moses and Elijah flank Christ, who appears in a mandorla to signify his divinity. On the right, Christ resurrects the dead man Lazarus. The facing page depicts the apostle Judas betraying Christ to the Roman soldiers and Christ’s subsequent arrest. In the lower right-hand corner, the apostle Peter cuts off the ear of the soldier Malchus in an attempt to defend Christ.
